Community Legal Centres

Community legal centres are independent non-profit community organisations that provide a range of assistance on legal and related matters to people on low incomes and those with special needs. They bridge the gap for those who cannot afford their own legal representation but for whom legal aid is not available.

Services may include information and referral, legal advice and ongoing legal assistance. There are some areas of law that centres do not deal with, such as taxation and commercial disputes.

You can find your nearest Community Legal Centre by using the search facility on the front page of the website. Alternatively, search the National Association of Community Legal Centres website to find a centre near you.
